The Last Summer Project by David Tatnall

Royal Park, Melbourne. Threatened by massive road project.

Melbourne photographer David Tatnall has been making large format photographs of Melbourne’s Royal Park during the summer of 2013 – 2014.

The 170 hectare park four kilometres from Melbourne’s GPO is under threat from the proposed massive east – west link road and tunnel project that would see 5200 trees felled and huge sessions of the park destroyed or alienated. This summer could be the last summer for Royal Park.

The photographs from this project can be seen in an exhibition at fortyfivedownstairs gallery in Melbourne 11 – 22 March 2014, and on this new website: The Last Summer.

All the photographs in this project have been made using a 4 x 5 camera with TRI-X 320 or Ektar 100 film.
